Starting at Lava Point at nearly 8,000 feet of elevation, the West Rim Trail gently traverses the Zion Plateau before rapidly descending nearly 5,000 feet through Scouts Landing and Walters Wiggles before finishing at The Grotto. Total trail length is between 16 and 18 miles.
