I put together this short video to document my hike up San Jacinto in Palm Springs with my brother-in-law, Mark Hoyer. The original plan was to complete a one-way ascent from the Skyline trailhead at the Palm Springs Musuem at 450ft above sea-level, to the tram station at 8,500ft. A late winter snow fall covered the last mile of the trek and the steepest part of the climb. As a result, we decided to climb halfway up (to 4,300ft) and halfway down, covering just under nine miles in about six and a half hours. Needless to say, it was hard work, but it was well worth it.
